Tom, This is Bob from beautiful southern illinois. Just wanted to let you know that it has been the best Morel Season we have had since 2010. We had almost two weeks of complete ground cover with snow this winter which had me very excited about the prospect for this years hunt. All we then needed was exactly what we got and that was a perfect spring with no freeze and no high temps above 75 or 76 at any timme. The woods was a perfect incubator for Morel grow. We have found Morels everywhere we go. We quit counting the numbers and recorded the pounds harveted instead. We are not yet done and have found over 200lbs. The Morchella Angusticeps (black, christmass tree, etc) harvest was over the top and since, Hortensis, Deliciosa, Esculenta and all variations in between (Crassipes "big foot") has been excellent. Wishing you the best with your hunt in Ottawa. Best Regards ~Bob
