Vicky wins the "First of the year" award for 2017. Found across the creek from Naumans Hill in Putnam County, IL about 4 to 8 feet from the creek bank where the sun has been shining to warm the soil. I went to the top of the hill and got skunked. I'm so glad she shares. ~Tom N.

Tom, It's been so busy at work that I almost forgot to send you this. I found my first morels of the season in Peoria County on Sunday, April 2. Picture attached. My wife and I found eight small grey morels in the same early spot that has been the first producer for me for the last several years. If this slow warm up with lots of steady rain continues, I'm hopeful for a good season. I hope you are well! ~ Matt

Decatur County, IN: Took a walk in the woods scouting out foliage, we're in for a good mushroom season albeit early. First tick, 3\30\2017 lol. I bet mushrooms beat the May Apples this year. ~Adam H.

Their back!!  The 2017 Morel season is starting for us in SE Kansas and SW Missouri.  Little grays found in SW Missouri first on 03252017 with more found next day pictured.  Then SE Kansas followed on 03272017 with the first pair pointed out by Chalk pictured, Can you see them?  Have a great season everyone and enjoy! ~Kent
